Holi Gifts: I got lucky this time what about you?

Holi, the very name enlightens my heart and soul, every time I think of it. It is celebrated in almost every part of India with fun and frolic. It sees no boundaries and is celebrated with full enthusiasm. Personally, I believe that Holi originated from the English word “Holy”, which associates itself with life and saintly feeling.

This colourful day is celebrated by throwing coloured power and water at each other. The emphasis is laid on the burning of Holika or lighting of Holi. In many places it is attributed by some to the burning of Holika, Holaka and Putana.

Times are changing and so are we. We have grown naïve enough to acknowledge even our own happiness. People have forgotten the meaning and values associated with this festival. They are stuck off in their own rock-pool life. I wonder why people don’t concede the child within. Let your spirit free this Holi and feel the difference it would bring in your life.

Well, for me this is the best time when I play with colours as it helps to bring out the child within me, which I have kept hidden for so long. Holi actually contravenes the line that exists between Hindu, Muslim, Sikh and Christian. I could see the Indian civilisation changing in front of my eyes. Good or Bad I can’t say but the fact that many unsocial elements have started playing this game in hideous manner creates problems in the society. Guess, this is the sole reason that backs me from celebrating my favourite festival.

And I tell you, to buy a gift for your younger sister is the toughest job in this entire world. Guess, not any more! With online shopping portals we have numerous options and products to choose from. Just to allure more and more customers, these websites are also offering free gifts and hampers. I bought a Laptop for my sister from a well known site called retailsdirect and got a Xerox printer half its price. Guess am lucky but what about you?
